I am originally from the valley the sacramento area.
CWG: What's the most unusual project you've worked on?
I don't know if this is unusual but I was on a TV show for Telemundo TV show and i dont speak a word of spanish!
CWG: If you could do one thing to make the world a sexier place, what would it be and why?
I would make everyone love one another. LOVE is sexy. also make everyone wear sexy lingerie.
CWG: What artist are you currently listening to?
Currently I have been venturing into the House Music. If you are a DJ you will know what it is. Also Miley Cyrus.... :)
CWG: What was the worst date you ever went on?
OH i try to avoid those.... Worst would be the night ending with my then boyfriend slamming his hands on the table and walking out on me in a restaurant. It was brutal.
CWG: Favorite place to hang out in L.A.?
Probably Fashion District. Downtown is epic in my eyes.
CWG: What's your guiltiest pleasure?
Chocolate. Or sex and the city... Also really cheesy songs they play on the radio.
I was born in Manila, Philippines. I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area until 6. My mom relocated my family to Virginia. During my childhood years I lived in Orange County California and Virginia. When I was 13 we returned to the San Francisco Bay Area. It all helped shape me.
CWG: What's the most unusual project you've worked on?
I don't think there is any unusual project I worked on. I was doing this swimsuit shoot. My mother came out from the waiting area to use the restroom which was near the set. I saw her glancing over as she was walking to the restroom. It was kind of awkward.
CWG: If you could do one thing to make the world a sexier place, what would it be and why?
I don't know about sexy. To make the world a better place, the first thing is to find purpose through charity and compassion for ourselves and each other.
CWG: What artist are you currently listening to?
There are so many artists. I have such an eclectic taste in music. I love listening to anything that appeases my ear. I love everything from John Mayer to Lil' Wayne to Celine Dion, Linkin Park, Justin Timberlake, Madonna, the list goes on...
CWG: What was the worst date you ever went on?
The worst date. WHOA. Well let's say it was rather cliche. He is was so cheap as to even mention that he forgot his wallet at home. When I told him that he should start pulling up his sleeves to wash the dishes, he pulled out his wallet. It wasn't even his card it was his parent's.
CWG: Favorite place to hang out in L.A.?
I like Griffith Observatory. It's gorgeous up there. I love learning and discovering new interesting things. It's so different from all the partying in LA. That's why I like it so much.
CWG: What's your guiltiest pleasure?
Chocolate. Of course I kick myself afterwards cause I make myself do more when I work out
CWG: What's the most unusual project you've worked on?
A film called Eternal Bliss which was about a mind control machine that revealed your secret fantasies. I played an undercover FBI agent trying to infiltrate the group of people.who created it and were using it. I got to play a real bitch who just used these people to further my career.
In the end of the movie I have a change of heart, but it was fun playing the manipulative vixen because its so opposite of who I really am. CWG: If you could do one thing to make the world a sexier place, what would it be and why?
Hmmm... Good question. There is nothing sexier then confidence (not cockiness) and most of the worlds issues today could probably be traced back to some form of insecurity. Be it growing up poor, or overweight, or being tormented in school, having a parent that was abusive, or even being threatened by another culture, religion or a country's belief system.
I would give everyone in the world a nice big confidence boost, some self help books (ha ha), the power to believe that they can achieve anything and the drive to motivate and inspire others to do the same! That would be sexy... A "baggage"-less world!
CWG: What artist are you currently listening to?
I'm all over the place in terms of music. My ipod ranges from Puccini to Paul Oakenfold and everything in between. Its more about the mood I'm in rather then the artist of the moment. When I'm feeling a little mischievious I will probably listen to Amy Whinehouse, if I'm pissed off (usually at some guy haha) 30 Seconds to Mars or Linkin Park, when I'm ready for a fun night out I may listen to Kanye West or Rhianna.
CWG: What was the worst date you ever went on?
Im actually compiling all of my LA dating experiences and writing a book about them. Some have just been awful and others comical. My life truly is an episode of Sex and the City. The worst one ever has to be when a guy picked me up on a friday nite for a second date after a really fun first date with a group of mutual friends. He didn't make reservations so we had to drive around for over an hour to find a place that could seat us.
He walked 5 feet ahead of me, didn't hold doors or pull out chairs, he was rude to our waitress (A BIG pet peeve of mine!) Then he took me to meet his friends and the bar we met them at was packed. A seat finally opened and he looked at me and was like "finally" and I thought he would have me sit, but no, he sat and left me standing with his friends. I was pretty mortified at this point and so were his friends. He then got wasted and said "let's go home" as if I would EVER spend the night with this jerk.
Then when I said " no I'm going home...alone" he said "But I bought you dinner you have to come home with me" I'm laughing as I type this because it was the lamest thing I ever heard. I pulled money out of my purse and said "Give me a break, dinner doesn't entitle you to anything" of course he didn't take it and on our way out he started a fight with the valet, he was a trainwreck. Needless to say I never spoke to him again.
CWG: Favorite place to hang out in L.A.?
For a while it was the Garter in Venice that was my summer spot, I had lots of great times there! My friends own the Happy Ending in Hollywood, so I always have a good time there because I'm with all of the old crew. I recently went to Kress and loved the rooftop, great atmosphere, I'm sure I'll go back. I love to explore new restaurants and bars...LA has so much going on at all times.
I was born in L.A but lived in Seattle for a while and just moved back to L.A. last year.
CWG: What's the most unusual project you've worked on?
I did a show called Fetes De La Nuit by Charles Mee and it was the most unusual because it was sooo good! It celebrated love and sex and art and beauty. It was funny and sad and heartbreaking and joyful.
It had wonderful music and dancing and the most talented and exciting cast, crew and director of all time. It's unusual to work on a project in which all the elements come together to make such a creatively enjoyable project. I still find myself listening to the music from it. A band called The Red Note created a lot of amazing original music for it.
CWG: If you could do one thing to make the world a sexier place, what would it be and why?
I think if everyone strove to live more consciously the world would be sexier place. I love being around people who are conscious because they tend be more open and happy and healthy and less ego driven.
Yup, conscious people are totally sexy!
CWG: What's your favorite album of all time?
It's tough to pick just one but I think The Mirror Conspiracy by Thievery Corporation ranks high on my list.
CWG: What artist are you currently listening to?
Tegan & Sara
CWG: What was the worst date you ever went on?
I would say the worst date was one that turned out to not be a date at all. I was attracted to this really hot girl, a director of a film I worked on.
Well one day she asks me out for a drink and I'm excited because I thought she liked me too! So I show up at the bar and a bunch of her friends are there. It wasn't a horrible evening but I was a little bummed that my "date" turned out to be a group thing.
CWG: Do you have any guilty pleasures?
Well I don't like equate guilt with pleasure but....I love having tacos at Grand Central Market sometimes. I know it's not health food but it's a $2 bite of heavenly meaty goodness.
CWG: Favorite place to hang out in L.A.?
I like to hang out at the park right outside the Central Library.
RHODE ISLAND. I went to Providence College (also in Rhode Island) on an Athletic Scholarship to play NCAA Division I Volleyball in the Big East Conference.
CWG: What’s the most unusual project you’ve worked on?
A modelling project for a Huge Artists Event in a gorgeous Castle in the Hollywood Hills....They had me in a bathtub, with DARK makeup on my eyes. They added red Koolaid to the water (so it looked like blood), with black Cabbage patch kids floating around in the tub....lol...
CWG: If you could do one thing to make the world a sexier place, what would it be and why?
Artist declines to answer.
CWG: What’s your favorite album of all time?
WHITNEY HOUSTON (in her earlier years!)
CWG: What artist are you currently listening to?
The birds singing outside :-)
CWG: What was the worst date you ever went on?
Ummm....my birthday of THIS YEAR
My date got SOOO drunk,...he asked for another girls's # in front of me, then poured his drink all over me b/c i wouldn't get in a car with him RIGHT AFTER he had done SIX shots in a row.
So then he LEFT ME at the club and went back to MY APARTMENT (because I was helping him out with a place to stay!!!)....I was left with no ID, no $$$, NO CELL PHONE to call for another ride (everything was in his car!!!) LOL This night was CRAZY!!!
Then the WAITSTAFF sang Happy BIrthday to me, while I was crying & laughing at the same time, and saying "This is the Best Birthday of my Life".
THEN, the manager paid for my Taxi home, and when I got back, he LOCKED ME OUT OF MY OWN APARTMENT & I had to literally rip the screen off the living room window & BREAK in!!!
From above the arctic circle in Norway, but I'm half Indonesian. God knows how my mother got all the way from the equator up there...
CWG: What’s the most unusual project you’ve worked on?
We made a feature about a reality show that went on in space. Fifteen people that were in a space ship in orbit around the earth. The ones who got voted out got frozen down in a coffin. As we did this project, we had a scene of everyone coming out of the space ship in the end with all of the fans there.
My friend had made a mistake when she called the media. Our director had almost the same name as a very famous director. And she had accidentaly said the famous director's name. So for the last scene the newpapers and tv stations were there because of that, filming and interwiewing us.
And we never ever actually cleared that up with them, so that director might have had some strange questions coming at him..
CWG: If you could do one thing to make the world a sexier place, what would it be and why?
There is so much focus on the body in this time and everyone thinks they have to fit into a mold.
I would change the world in a way that everyone feels comfortable with their body and aren't afraid to show it.
CWG: What’s your favorite album of all time?
Even though I listen mostly to electronic now, my favorite album of all time would be Bjork's first album. She is an amazing, creative, daring force that nobody can compete with or come close to. A true artist that isn't afraid to express herself.
CWG: What artist are you currently listening to?
Currently, my Ipod's playing mostly Jackson 5 remixes (what happened to that man), MSTRKRFT remixes, lots of electronic music and Flobox.
CWG: What was the worst date you ever went on?
Well... that is probably my most embarrassing moment of my life! I went on a first date with a guy I was into. He took me out in his new ride.
Unfortunately, I had eaten some peanuts that were out of date. And at some point in the ride, we were having a normal conversation, when all of a sudden I burst like a volcano.... projectile vomiting all over the windshield, CD pocket, my purse.. everywhere.
And.. unfortunately, I tried at the last moment to block this with my purse, and it backfired right onto my eye lashes... Now I have to stop talking about this, I'm getting flashbacks...
CWG: Do you have any guilty pleasures?
I smell everything. I will spend 20 minutes in the supermarket smelling laundry softener determining which one I'll get. I love doing laundry because of the smell.
CWG: Favorite place to hang out in L.A.?
Something as simple as having lunch with the girls at Birds. Or Green Door. If not, on the terrace at the house, chilling. Or "Monkey ball" at Venice Beach every Sunday.
I'm a Michigan girl... snowy winters, summers at the lake, and the very best friends in the world... these are the things I miss most about the mid west.
CWG: What's the most unusual project you've worked on?
Probably modeling for the 2008 IMATS international fantasy beauty makeup competition at the Pasadena Convention Center. The theme was "Greek goddesses" - and I was the fiery Phoenix! My makeup artist, Lymari Millot, and I won first prize... so look for us in the next edition of IMATS magazine!
CWG: If you could do one thing to make the world a sexier place, what would it be and why?
The sexiest thing a person can be is real. We all need to stop idolizing celebrities and start realizing our OWN potential. A poser free world? Now THAT'S sexy.
CWG: What's your favorite album of all time?
The Postal Service for their debut album ~ "Give Up". As a dancer, I appreciate music with a message, a great beat, and a fresh sound. This album has it all!
CWG: What artist are you currently listening to?
Akon... "Always talkin bout what you got... girl you know that you need to stop"... haha... oh Akon, didn't you know I've only just begun!
CWG: What was the worst date you ever went on?
Definitely Disney Land. Leave it to "The Happiest Place on Earth" to shore up a date so nervous he actually had to get out of line to go puke. Then leave it to the romantic fireworks to inspire him to go in for the kiss anyway. Can you say ew?!
CWG: Do you have any guilty pleasures?
Starbucks coffee. As a former barista and lifelong lover of caffeinated bliss, I'll take a latte over a fancy dinner ANY day.
CWG: Favorite place to hang out in L.A.?
The Improv Comedy Club! I LOVE stand up comedy... and the Improv features some of the best comics in the country. I would definitely recommend it for a great night full of fun and laughs!
CWG: What's the most unusual project you've worked on?
Life
CWG: If you could do one thing to make the world a sexier place, what would it be and why?
I do it as much as I can, there is nothing sexier than a smile. Smile at people you know, smile at people you don't know but it makes everyone feel better so see a happy smile.
CWG: What's your favorite album of all time?
Pink Floyd - A Momentary Lapse of Reason
CWG: What artist are you currently listening to?
The Decemberists - The Crane Wife
CWG: What was the worst date you ever went on?
A blind date with a guy that kept telling me he couldn't believe how cute I was and that I reminded him so much of his 13 year old niece.
California! I'm an original "Valley Girl" Grew up in the valley, spent a lot of time at the Galeria, the mall, etc.
CWG: What's the most unusual project you've worked on?
I did a photoshoot with the former 1st lady of Playboy, Carrie Leigh. She has her own magazine called "Nude" out now, depicting women in a beautiful, artful and respectful way. It's something I wouldn't normally do, but her style inspired me.
CWG: If you could do one thing to make the world a sexier place, what would it be and why? If there were a way to make everyone see each person for what makes them special, not by their looks alone, I'd want to do that. Invent a pill or come up with a potion so that one doesn't see another as obese, but sees them for their stunning sense of humor, or their beautiful smile as their beauty.
It's horrible that our society judges so much on looks alone. Sexy isn't just sex appeal, it's someone who is confident but not to a fault. Confident in themselves enough to put others first.
CWG: What artist are you currently listening to? I listen to a lot of artists. Right now, my taste is on two different ends of the spectrum. I'm listening to Nine Inch Nails, and Rhianna. I love all kinds of music.
Nine Inch Nails has killer songs, the words in their songs, and the way they are sung can capture you!!
CWG: What was the worst date you ever went on? I've never really been on a bad date, but I have been out with a guy friend who thought it was a date, but I thought it was just time out with a friend. You know, those akward High School times?
He brought me roses, and I was really confused. I ended up breaking his heart because I didn't want to be his girlfriend, and that ruined the night for both of us. It ultimately ruined our friendship too. It was horrible.
CWG: Favorite place to hang out in L.A.?
I love the beach!! It's not really L.A. but it's SO beautiful with the waves crashing on the shore, and nature showing it's ominous power and yet it's frailty all at the same time. Scarlet colored sunsets, cobalt and turquoise swirls of colored walls of water with white misted blankets at their feet....just breathtaking!!
CWG: What's your guiltiest pleasure? OH MAN!! This list could be HUGE!! Ok, well....Chocolate Covered Strawberries, most any kind of candy and Vanilla Bean Frappucino's with Caramel all over!! Yumm!
CWG: What's the most unusual project you've worked on?
WHEN I WORKED WITH YOUNG PHOTOGOS THAT DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO SHOOT..VERY ACKWARD.
CWG: If you could do one thing to make the world a sexier place, what would it be and why?
I WOULD ELIMINATE ALL FAST FOOD RESTUARANTS SO NO ONE COULD EAT FATTY FOODS AND LOSE WEIGHT AND NOT BE FAT BECAUSE THATS NOT HEALTHY AND EVERYONE WOULD BE SEXY!!
CWG: What artist are you currently listening to?
CHRIS BROWN & MARY J
CWG: What was the worst date you ever went on?
WHEN THE GUY THOUGHT THAT I WOULD LIKE TO DRIVE AROUND ALL NIGHT AND LOOK AT THE SCENEARY..YEAH RIGHT..WACKEST DATE EVER
CWG: What's the most unusual project you've worked on?
I am a black female who does hard rock and heavy metal. But a few years ago, I was poached by a well known record label to perform a hit song in a different genre under an alias and in disguise and I played some high profile shows. It was a good laugh, but, eventually I had to let it die.
CWG: If you could do one thing to make the world a sexier place, what would it be and why?
Make black women proud of their natural hair- somewhere along the line we were told that black hair is undesirable and unattractive and that's unfortunate.
CWG: What artist are you currently listening to?
Gojira- evil prog death metal from France
CWG: What was the worst date you ever went on?
I actually never "went" on it- he stood me up because his family didn't approve of him dating out of his race.
CWG: Favorite place to hang out in L.A.?
Wherever my friends and I happen to be.
CWG: What's your guiltiest pleasure?
I don't feel guilty about things that give me pleasure.

Buy On:
Picture U2 in which Bono is replaced with a hot chick (yes… awesome, I know…), and you’ve got Washing ton DC indie rockers Juniper Lane. The band’s newest offering “Wake From Yourself” is an eclectic delve into experimental rock, yet catchy enough to land on any one of your favorite FM playlists.
Not to mention… Juniper Lane’s hot new single, “Take Me Home,” just appeared in an episode of MTV’s “The Hills.”
We were able to catch up with Vivion Smith for a quick Q&A.
CWG: "Wake From Yourself" has the trippiest album cover we've ever seen. How did you guys come up with the concept for the album cover?
We have to credit our graphic designer, Brian Ledbetter, with the main idea. We just liked the combination of the old broken down house being encroached upon by anachronistic urban development.
Also, the concept of waking (part of the album title) being represented with there only being one light on in the house, and the sun beginning to shine on only one side of the house.
CWG: Indie is the new mainstream. As an artist who values creativity and making unique music, how do you feel about the commercialization of Indie Rock?
Just like when "alternative rock" became the new mainstream rock in the 90s, and subsequently stopped being "alternative," I think the same might happen with "independent" rock.
If "independent" music becomes commercialized and independent artists begin being marketed on major record labels, will they still be "indie?"
I mean, I think a lot of Indie Rock music is fantastic and deserves mainstream attention, but I am not sure it can rightfully continue to be called "Indie." However, it is nice to see formerly Indie bands finally being able to support themselves on their income from music alone, something that usually can only happen when they get mainstream media attention.
CWG: What bands inspire you the most?
U2, Death Cab For Cutie, Interpol, REM, Radiohead.
CWG: What's your favorite album of all time?
U2 - “The Joshua Tree,” or Death Cab for Cutie, “Plans.”
It's tough to decide between those two.
CWG: Besides making awesome music, do you have any weird hobbies, guilty pleasures, odd ways to kill time, etc.?
I love being outside-- hiking, horse-back riding, camping, skiing.
Those things might not be as cool as Rock and Roll, but they are a good occasional escape from the dark, smokey rock clubs.
CWG: What can we expect from Juniper Lane in 2008?
We hope to begin recording another album, and continue to work to get songs from “Wake From Yourself” placed in TV and movie soundtracks.
Hopefully you can expect Juniper Lane to begin to receive a little more mainstream media attention.
This week, we're trying something new! We all know L.A. has the hottest women, but this week, New York has one-upped the West Coast.
CWG: What's the most unusual project you've worked on?
I did a Tickle Fetish Video Lol. I wore a bikini and basically, my feet and sides were tickled while I sat tied up in a contraption. Then I and another model tickled a guy tied to a bed. It was an interesting experience lol.
CWG: If you could do one thing to make the world a sexier place, what would it be and why?
I would...
CWG: What artist are you currently listening to?
I am in love with the new Madonna track, "4 Minutes" and also the new single from the Bravery "Unconditional" CWG: What was the worst date you ever went on?
I would have to say this guy who said he was taking me on a "suprise date" first we go "dinner" which was Wendy's!!! I guess he figured it was a step up from McDonalds. I took it in stride because he was cute and I figured maybe it was a joke. So we leave for our "suprise destination" which I am thinking must be a real hot spot or something. He makes me close my eyes and we walk in and where am I? A Sci-Fi Festival!!!
This hot guy was a true geek, lmao. I called up a girl friend to pick me up and I was out. I was pissed at the time but its funny every time I think about it.
CWG: Favorite place to hang out in New York?
My favorite place in NY would be the East Village. It has such a funky vibe and is very laid back.
CWG: What's your guiltiest pleasure?
Candy!! I am a sweets fantatic. If you want to get on my good side buy me a box of twizzlers with a side of jellybeans. Watching a good flick in bed with a mouth full of sweets is such a nice treat.
CWG: What's the most unusual project you've worked on?
Most unusual project I've ever worked on was for this avant garde film for LA Film school where I danced in "trash" and played a homeless type person inhabiting a diseased war torn earth (ugly facial sores and all).
CWG: If you could do one thing to make the world a sexier place, what would it be and why?
If I could do one thing to make the world a sexier place, I would make sure that massages were a necessity and not a luxury . The power of touch, even in a non-sexual manner is healing.
CWG: What artist are you currently listening to?
I could listen to Norah Jones all day long:)
CWG: What was the worst date you ever went on?
The worst date I went on was when I still lived in Dallas. My date had previously dated too many "goldiggers", so he thought it would be funny to claim he worked at McDonald as a Fry-maker. It was funny at first, but he carried on the charade for the whole night & consequently lied about other things as well. It was exhausting, insulting, and a MAJOR turnoff.
CWG: Favorite place to hang out in L.A.?
I love hanging out with friends at the Swingers on Beverly Boulevard. They have the best Bloody Mary!
CWG: What's your guiltiest pleasure?
My guiltiest pleasure is a red velvet cupcake from Sprinkles and good glass of wine
