Beautifully ambient, beautifully perverse, Voyager One takes 1990’s sex-infused industrial into 2008. Picture Gravity Kills meets Radiohead. Similar in style to Sister Machine Gun, Wired All Wrong, etc., these electro-rockers debut their new offering “Afterhours in the Afterlife”
The album doesn’t exactly start off with a bang, opening with the ever-mello “Here,” reminiscent of U2’s delve into Electronica. Unique, original, and must be listened to with headphones to get the full effect.
“The Future Is Obsolete,” a fast-paced indie-style rocker, think New Order meets GLU’s“Life In The So-Called Space Age” album.
“I Remember Everything” stands out as the “Single,” infused with sparkling guitars, fuzzy bass, and various moog sounds, this song belongs on KROQ and beyond.
Voyager One – “I Remember Everything”
“Bed of Sound” is cool, seamlessly blending guitar and synth into one as if they were one instrument. Definitely check this song out.
The rest of the songs on “Afterhours in the Afterlife” flow brilliantly and seamlessly into the next. Not quite a concept album, but woven together intricately.
