“Would you like to have a drink sometime?”
Ideally you want to pose this question to a woman you want to go on a date with as soon as possible. I did exactly that with Layla in a record 3 minutes.
I remember that day very well. I was heading to another late night gym session. Finding street parking is always a hassle in Downtown L.A., even at night.
This night I wasn’t so lucky to find parking and like other rare occasions I was forced to park inside the building.
There I was heading up the building and on my way to find parking when lo and behold I saw the one thing that always piques my interest… a hot chick.
She had her trunk door opened and she was pulling some luggage out. In that instant I knew what I had to do. I had to park as close to her so I could at least get myself in her field of vision. I’ll admit every approach with a woman is carefully calculated.
In a matter of seconds I will plot how I will approach her or try to get her interest so that I can ease my way into a conversation.
I pulled up and parked a couple of cars away from this hot chick but not once did I look in her direction. In my mind I didn’t need to look further. I saw her once and I didn’t want her to notice that she had caught my eye.
As soon as I pulled up, I made every movement slow and calculated, so that by the time she walked toward the elevator, I would be walking a close distance from her. Eventually we’d be riding the elevator together.
I got out of my car and proceeded to walk toward the elevator. She had pulled out her luggage and was now dragging it along.
“Excuse me but do you know where the entrance to the Hilton is at?” she asked me.
“Yes, you have to take the elevator down to the lobby,” was my response.
I knew I was in and could now have a friendly conversation with this girl.
“Is it okay if I follow you? I’ve never been here before.”
This was going to be easier than I thought! I could already see that she considered me a friendly face. Time to make some conversation as we headed into the elevator.
“Are you here from out of town on a business trip?” I asked.
She smiled and said, “No, I actually live around here, but I’m staying at the hotel for a weekend long conference and I really don’t want to drive back and forth every day.”
“I see, so where exactly do you live?”
“Santa Monica. Are you staying at the hotel?”
“No, I’m coming in for a short workout.”
“Oh really, you know I want to thank you for helping me. It’s rare to find a gentleman these days.”
(Editor's note: Damn, Sam, she wanted you!!!!)
She was right, I am a gentleman, but I was a gentleman who was checking out every inch of her body when she wasn’t looking.
Standing within three feet from her I was falling in lust for her curves; she was extremely attractive.
I couldn’t go wrong, she had a great ass, great legs, and great face.
The elevator doors opened and I knew this was the moment of truth.
“The hotel lobby is this way. It’s across from the gym. Follow me and I’ll take you there.”
“Thanks, I’m Layla. What’s your name?”
“Sam.”
I was definitely in.
As I dropped her off at the entrance to the lobby I popped the question, “Would you like to have a drink sometime?”
“Sure, here, let me give you my number. Here’s my business card with my business number and cell number.”
“Great we’ll be in touch.”

So there I was walking away not trying to look overly excited. I had to look cool as I walked away. But this was a new level of success for me. The entire interaction between Layla and myself took three minutes at the most.
This was not an exaggeration or dramatization. I actually took 3 minutes from the instant I got out of the car to the time I walked away\and looked at my cell phone.
Lesson learned: don’t ask a woman simply for her number. Ask her out with a specific plan and if she’s interested she will give you her number.
