Puddle of Mudd

Kansas City, MO-based rockers, Puddle of Mudd, stay true to their Post-Grunge roots on their third major label offering, “Famous.” Complete with 11-tracks that flutter between “balls-out” Rock and powerful ballads, the boys in Puddle of Mudd have once again hammered out a note-worthy album.

How does a band with a niche sound keep coming up with fresh material?

Simple! Puddle of Mudd proves once-and-for-all on “Famous” that they’re far from the pigeon-hole of “nice band.” Power ballads/slow songs like, “It Was Faith,” “We Don’t Have To Look Back Now,” and “Thinking About You” break up the heavy songs, adding a mature and redefined element to the album and the band’s sound.

Wes Scantlin’s signature howl throughout the record, often switching between crooning and crying out, channels the late Kurt Cobain shines on songs like “Famous,” and “Psycho,” “I’m So Sure,” and “Livin’ On Borrowed Time.”

In the spirit of the album (i.e. famous) the band tapped note-worthy producers to lend an ear. The album’s first single, “Famous,” is co-written and produced by Brian Howes (Hinder, Daughtry). Other note-worthy producers are: Bill Stevenson (Rise Against, MXPX), Jack Joseph Puig (John Mayer), and Puddle of Mudd themselves.

“Psycho,” the album’s second single throws back to 90s Grunge Rock. Simple in nature, the song sticks in your head like schizophrenia. Check out the video below, watch for celebrity guest stars!

Other key tracks are: “Moonshine,” “I’m So Sure,” and “Radiate” – This song is awesome! Click on the iTunes link, and buy this song right now!
