Chicago Rockers, Chevelle are back with a new line up and their 3rd Major Label Release, "Vena Sera." A lot of critics hate this album. I say, "Fuck the critics!" This is by far the best, most daring, and most consistent album chevelle has released since "Point #1."


"Vena Sera" starts off with "Antisaint," a banger in the vein of Tool, and keeps hammering you home. "Safewaters," "Well Enough Alone," and "Saturdays" follow the classic Alt-Metal heavy/soft/heavy/soft format. Typical for the genre, but the hooks are infectious.

The rest of the songs on the album are heavy all the way through, occasionaly pausing to pummel the listeners with downtuned guitar noise and Pete Loeffler's signature howl.

For those of you who prefer iTunes, "Vena Sera (iTunes exclusive) comes with "Debt to the Earth" as an extra bonus track.
